Permanent make-up
Before & after treatment preparing and healing.
The result does not depend on us alone. Here is how to prepare and how to care for your brows so they heal beautifully and last. Lips and eyeliner have their own rules on their pages.
- Healing
- 7–14 days
- No sun
- 10 days before, 3 weeks after
- Touch-up
- after 1 month
(Preparation)
Before you come
Days and weeks before
- No sun or sunbeds for 10 days before the treatment. On sunburnt skin the right pigment shade cannot be chosen.
- Stop blood thinners 5 days before and antibiotics 10 days before and after – always after talking to your doctor.
- No brow care products or growth serums.
The day before
- heavy and spicy food
- alcohol
- coffee, strong tea and energy drinks
On the day
- No smoking for at least 2 hours before.
- No rich cream on your face in the morning – it leaves a film the pigment struggles to get through.
(Brow healing)
Day by day
Always touch your brows with freshly washed hands only.
Right after
Cream and the first wipe
We apply a thin layer of cream. After 30 minutes we wipe it off with a damp, then a dry cotton pad and apply cream again. A yellow or brown fluid stays on the pad: lymph, cream and pigment.
The brows may be swollen and red, sometimes on one side only. The swelling usually goes by the next day.
The first day
Wipe every 1.5–2 hours
Wipe the brows thoroughly in every direction with a damp pad, dry them with a dry one and apply a thin layer of cream. The skin must stay smooth, clean and free of lymph between the hairs. It may sting or burn – hang in there.
Why so often: built-up lymph would form a thick scab that takes some of the pigment with it as it heals.
Days 2–7
Morning and evening
Wipe the brows lightly with a damp pad, let them dry for a minute and apply a thin layer of cream. With dry skin, add some during the day when it feels tight.
The brows must neither dry out nor be smothered in cream. Test: after a minute, run a dry finger over them. If it picks up grease, it is too much; if the brows feel dry, add a little.
Around day 7
The brows are darkest
A thin, flat scab forms within the hair strokes, never over the whole brow. They may itch – never scratch.
Until week 6
The pigment settles
Fine flakes with the drawing of the hairs gradually come off. What matters is that the drawing stays on the skin too; its intensity does not matter yet. The brows slowly reach their final colour and end up about 10–15 % thinner than right after.
After a month
Touch-up
We deepen the pigment and finish spots that did not take. What counts is the result after the touch-up has healed. Touch-up prices are in the price list.
(The first week)
Dos and don’ts
You can
- Wear make-up, powder and eye make-up – away from the brows
- Cleanse your face morning and evening as usual, skipping the brow area
- Wash your hair, leaning forward
Avoid
- Any cosmetics on or near the brows
- Getting the brows wet
- Sun, sunbeds, sauna, pools and the sea – ideally for 3 weeks
- Exercise and humidity
- Scratching, even when the brows itch
(No worries)
What is normal while healing
Dark colour
Right after the treatment there is more pigment in the skin. It lightens and about 60 % stays, depending on your skin; dry, flaky skin loses colour faster.
Scabs and flakes
They come off with the pigment on the surface. The main pigment sits deeper in the skin.
Itching
It is part of healing. Hang in there and never scratch.
Thinner brows
Once healed the brows are about 10–15 % thinner. It works like any small cut closing up.
(Questions)
What you ask most often
Didn’t find your answer? Call or write to us, we’re happy to help.
When should I come for the touch-up?
For brows about a month later, for eyeliner 4–12 weeks after the treatment. Always on fully healed skin.
My brows look too dark. Is that okay?
Yes. The pigment fades as it heals and only the right, clear colour stays.
Can I wear make-up afterwards?
Yes, away from the brows. For lips and eyeliner skip make-up until fully healed, at least a week.
Something is unclear. Whom do I call?
